Determinantes de la recuperación de los problemas de alcohol en sujetos tratados y no tratados en una muestra española

Este estudio comparó el proceso de recuperación entre dos grupos de recuperados de problemas de alcohol, uno que se había recuperado con tratamiento y otro recuperado sin tratamiento. Mediante anuncios en prensa y otras estrategias de reclutamiento se captaron 32 (16 tratados y 16 autocambiadores) participantes españoles que habían tenido problemas de consumo de alcohol y que en la actualidad llevaban 1 año o más recuperados. Los participantes fueron evaluados en una única sesión a cerca de la historia de uso y recuperación. Los resultados mostraron diferencias significativas entre los dos grupos en variables tales como el grado de dependencia, el tipo de recuperación y las estrategias de afrontamiento utilizadas en el mantenimiento de la recuperación. Como en estudios previos, la presión y el apoyo desde la familia de la persona y el entorno social juegan un papel importante en la recuperación y el mantenimiento, especialmente entre los tratados. Estos resultados son muy similares a los encontrados en investigaciones previas en población angloparlante.Citas
